About the Event
Kielder Residential 12th - 14th May 2023
Kielder is a beautiful part of the world. Home to England’s largest forest and the biggest man-made lake in Northern Europe, Kielder Water & Forest Park is a playground for cyclists, walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. A haven for wildlife, the best dark skies in England and award-winning art & architecture… Kielder will inspire, surprise and enthral you.
So its only right we should put together a residential and enjoy the beauty it has to offer.
What to expect
As with all our Residentials we keep tight lipped about exactly what you will be doing. But be ready to have a great time and make some unforgettable memories.
On arrival we will taking a part in a group ice breaker activity before getting some down time so we can be ready for the Night Skies observatory. This is an experience like no other.
Kielder Observatory is one of the most remarkable places to visit in the whole of the UK. A public astronomical observatory which is second to none, under some of the darkest skies in the world where you'll find "infinite inspiration" and wonders you could never have imagined!
With the help of their staff we will hopefully see far away planets and galaxies.
Day two will be one of our biggest challenges to date. We will be walking around the whole of keilder water which is approx 27 miles.
We will have plenty of help on route and a half way point set up for those not wanting to do the whole loop.
This route is suitable for most walkers and is relatively flat compared to our normal hikes but if you have any reservations please speak to me.
Once back to the accommodation we will finish with our quiz night where you will team up and go up against the rest of teams to find out who will take home that famous quiz trophy!
The final day will include activities around the accommodation and kielder castle. This will be Battle Pt type activities including our spin on an orienteering challenge.
Further details will be released closer to the time along with kit lists and timings.
